The Industry

     First of all I feel the need to address the whole “neglecting-to-post-everyday-thing” like I have been since the beginning of the blog, but then I realized that you probably understand the working world and can relate to 12 hour work days and fatigue so I’m going to not address the issue instead. However, I thought it was a good idea to do a bit of an update plus I have a question for you!

I’m still on the mad hunt for a second job, but at the rate I’m going I probably won’t find anything that is as flexible as I need and part time as well until school starts up. Then everyone drops to part time and there is more room for newbies like myself. However, I’m not giving up. Besides this, I am working at Jack a lot, which is great. I’m going to events solo now and driving in the new cruiser like a P-I-M-P! Haha, ya I know, I made myself throw up a little too.

I do want to make sure that you recognize that this blog is not over! Yes it might be a little less frequent, but I’m still going to share my opinions on the industry and hopefully if you are an industry professional you will share your story because I would love to hear more of them (if you’re interested email me: mitch.hawes@gmail.com). This is still one of my favorite past times and hopefully I can find some more time to market it. With that said, feel free to market it yourself. Use the toolbar at the bottom of every page to tweet out a post, or join The Industry’s facebook page. Tell your friends, your parents, your incredibly talented-computer literate gerbil that has learned to read, doesn’t matter to me.

Also, if you find something worth discussing share it. From politics to a funny web video or thought on radio, I would love to get a dialogue going! Post anything in the comments or you can email/tweet me (@mitchhawes).

My last question/comment is actually for one person in particular. It appears that there is a daily reader out of Laval, Quebec and I’m dying to know if you’re in the radio biz or just a reader. The point? If your in the business, I want you to be the next radio person highlighted on the blog… you could be FAMOUS!

That’s about all I have for right now. I have one of Victoria’s biggest events to work tomorrow called the Symphony Splash. We’re talking 40,000 plus people. It’s going to be crazy awesome and crazy busy so I probably won’t be able to post tomorrow night either. However, I will try and tweet throughout the night so you can get some mini-blogs if you’re desperate to beat the boredom blues.
