Day Forty - Beach Time
Alright perhaps ‘beach’ is the wrong word because it was more “lake time” and the place where we go to swim isn’t covered in warm sand. Nope you’re facing rocks and tree roots… but once you’re in… you’re golden. It’s a perfect way to spend a beautiful Sunday.
After the concert last night, I came home and listened to the CD I bought on repeat for another hour or two, so by the time I got to bed it was close to 3:30 and a late night equals a late sleep in, at least when you’re not working.
When I finally woke up with the sun beaming through my blinds, landing (naturally) right in my eyes, I realized that it was the nicest day we have had in Victoria since the sun set up camp for this thing we call “Summer”. Not a cloud in the sky, warm, but not scorching and a slight breeze… this is what I call a water day. Whether that means floating in the pool, or heading to the lake… it is a “spend-every-ounce-of-time-in-the-water” kind of day… my favorite! So naturally this is what I did.
I went to Thetis Lake swam like crazy (the lake was perfect temperature as well) and by the time I got back home I was hot again, so I jumped into the pool for another couple hours. I know rough life.
By now you probably think that on my weekends I do nothing but relax… although this is true for the past couple weekends, I can’t tell you how much I miss the working world! I would be just as happy to be working at a station then hanging out in the water. I know that might sound ridiculous but it is true. When you are as passionate about something as much as I am passionate about radio, it doesn’t feel like work, it’s just a great past time that you get paid for! So employers out there… don’t let these lax weekends plant an image of laziness in your head… it’s quite the opposite haha, hire me so I can prove it to you!
Anyways… tomorrow is back to the marketing of this blog and job hunting. Remember to do your homework!
