Extra - Malahat Revue Review

If you follow me on Twitter (@mitchhawes), you’ll know that I went to a concert last night with my friend Erin. Now I have a pretty broad music library. Everything from Aha to The Proclaimers, to Tiesto and Metric and of course, the latest top 40 hits. Yesterday it was all about the local alternative rock side of things. 

Jeremy Fisher, Hannah Georgas, Said the Whale and Aidan Knight (all from either Vancouver or Victoria), which when you put them all together, they call themselves “The Malahat Revue”. I thought that each band would play a set and then leave but that wasn’t the case. Each band backed up each performer. So they were all on stage for the whole show and it sounded unbelievable. Perfect venue, perfect sized crowd and great music and it was nice to get out of the house! HA 

Now I’ve heard of all these bands before but Said the Whale was the only one on my iPod… after this concert… all of them are on the “Recently Added” playlist and will soon be moved to my personal favorite “AWESOMENESS”, with Hannah Georgas at the TOP!

If you ever have a chance to see any of them DO IT, you won’t be disappointed!
