Day Twenty Two - GRADUATION!

What a crazy cool day! Today was two years in the making. I officially got my diploma in radio broadcasting from BCIT! But whatever… the cooler part was seeing all the people I had spent every day with for the past couple years. It was like a tiny reunion, even though we were missing a couple people. Although it’s only been a month and a half it feels a lot longer when you are used to seeing each other every day (including weekends), sometimes at 5am, sometimes midnight.

I’m currently sitting in my hotel room, preparing to get ready for another epic radio party (it’s sort of an industry thing… party hardy… but safely of course). I just thought I would give a quick update of how the day went, because I can’t miss a day on this whole blog thingy.

So being from Victoria I had to get up pretty early to look all business-like and pack for the night. I wrangled up the family and we made our way to the ferry, although we almost didn’t make it on time due to an accident (although my Dad won’t admit it. “We had TONS of time” he says… if tons of time means 5 minutes he would be right). Once we were here in Vancouver we had to waste some time before the ceremony, so I was dragged to IKEA… IKEA… not my favorite place to be… and in a suit no less. So we loaded up a couple bags full of useless stuff. The cheese grater, dish scrubbers, and a shoe rack…. don’t ask. Then off to the ceremony.

I met up with my class, did the whole “how are you? you got a job? Congrats! How’s life? Good to hear it? Ya I’m unemployed… but I’m blogging!” conversation… roughly repeated that 30 times… haha but it’s all good. The ceremony of a couple hundred people was finished in an hour and a half (which is a record I have to admit) and then I got the honour of going to an awards ceremony. I was the only one from my class that received an award which is pretty awesome and not going to lie a great boost to the ol’ ego which has taken a bit of a hit from not getting a job yet. Anyways, I schmoozed appropriately. Teachers, industry people and fellow classmates. Then I got in the car, came to the hotel, got out of my suit and here I am, ready to get out on the town!

That’s all for now, I’ll have more for you tomorrow!

WOO GRADUATION!
