The Industry

     I am still amazed how much attention this blog has received and we are only at day fourteen! It’s all about networking, networking, networking and through yesterdays excitement (Day 13) I am going to be going to hang out in the control room with Scott McGregor on 107.3 Kool FM this Thursday! WOOT! With that in mind, he sent me an awesome email that I will post with my Thursdays post. Today’s message though ties in quite nicely to this, it is all about the power of the follow up!Whether you are following up with a job application like Rob Arnold said today, sending a quick thank you or a tweet pointing out something interesting. Once the person you have been in contact with has heard your name, your main priority should be to make it so they can’t forget you. I have to admit, this is working out really well for me haha. Although I don’t have tons of people flocking to me, begging me to come work for them, I’m not completely isolated from the industry like I was for the week or two before I started this blog. I’m talking about my passion every time I log on. I’m talking to people that have common interests and I get to share and help fellow newbies! Now if I could only get paid for this, this wouldn’t be that bad of a gig! Anyone want to be a sponsor?! 

Going back to the follow-up. I was have been posted to Airchecker, sent my demos to a couple announcers and I am going to sit in on a show just because I kept in contact with the people who tracked me down! A pretty freaking awesome position to be in I have to tell you. 

Think legal/less scary stalker. Be heard, be brave and be known… and seriously get TWITTER! 140 characters are enough to build connections, I know it surprised me too!
