Back to School? #projectcreativeoutlet

Labor Day long weekend is wrapping up and I have to say it is a really weird feeling not buying binders and notebooks for school. The security blanket of school has been taken away, much like when Linus from the Peanuts grew up and his friends stole his blanket and burned it. Luckily he became a stoner so the ashes didn’t go to waste.

First of all, I wish I could say I came up with that back story for good ol’ Linus, but that actually is one of the plots to the Victoria Fringe show - God Sees Dog. Highly entertaining. Getting back on track…

I’m having mixed emotions about watching my friends go back to school while I do this “working” thing that I’ve heard so much about. The real world apparently crept up on me and now it just seems to be a daunting task. Luckily I have a job that I really enjoy, but it doesn’t make it less weird. I guess when you spend so much of your time praying for the day where you don’t have to spend eight hours a day in classes, when the day finally arrives it’s incredibly surreal. I’m at this point.

At the time it feels like it will never end, when it ends it feels like it barely started… how does that work? College felt like a blink and now the real world is setting in and I’m still not sure if I’m excited, nervous or too tired to notice.

On a side note. I talked about #projectcreativeoutlet earlier in the week with you and I just want to update you and let you know that everything is still going well. With this said I want to issue the same challenge again. If you have a twitter account tweet and share what your creative outlet is. What are you doing to challenge yourself? I’ll re-post your tweets and feature them in my new youtube project once it comes online! Awesome! Remember to put the hashtag (#projectcreativeoutlet) and @reply me as well. (@mitchhawes).

That’s all for now. If you are going back to school, have fun… if you’re not going back, have fun doing whatever your doing…
