#ProjectCreativeOutlet is a Go!

Alright, you know the post is going to be good when I have an awesome hash-tag in the title. A couple days ago I expressed my desire to find a new creative outlet. Something that I can work on, something different, to get me out of the monotony of working every day. I have decided, my next adventure will be a YouTube show.

Reasoning:

  1. It is something new and challenging.
  2. Youtube is only the second biggest site (first is google) in the world, I think I should learn to utilize it more.
  3. I want to be able to show future employers what they can do for free online
  4. It is a cure to the not-so-creative jobs I have now (not that they aren’t good, but they are definitely in a different genre).

Now that I have decided the outlet, I need a great channel name. Do you have any suggestions? Leave them in the comments below. The show is going to be a mash up of all sorts of stuff: commentary, favorite stuff and viewer challenges for the main part.

With this said, I don’t want to just post videos that I make on my digital camera, that have crap audio and look like a 2 year old edited it. So today, I posted a craigslist ad looking for graphic designers who can help create a logo and some templates for my youtube channel and twitter account. The first person to reply seemed the most enthusiastic and also the person with the most experience… although my phone kept beeping all day with new potential designers.

Regardless, she is working on a logo right now and there will be a big unveiling with the first video up on the channel. Probably will be a couple weeks to get everything prepared and to teach myself how to edit video…

“Oooh what does this button do…ALL FILES LOST…. Uh-oh…”

Wish me luck and if you want to join in on #ProjectCreativeOutlet tweet what you are going to do to get creative and make sure to add the hashtag.

Woo! I feel better already.
